1. About These Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Self-Care Compass (“the Service”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), an educational web application currently operating in a Phase 1 – Safe Pilot. By creating an account, using an invite code, or signing in with Google, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Nature of the Service — What This Is and What It Is Not

Self-Care Compass is an educational self-care resource that offers structured reading material organized around a 14-tier self-awareness framework. During this Pilot, only Stabilization Tiers 1–3 are available.

The Service is expressly NOT, and is not a substitute for:

Therapy, counseling, psychotherapy, or any form of mental-health treatment.
Medical advice, diagnosis, prescription, or clinical assessment of any kind.
Crisis intervention, emergency response, or suicide-prevention services.
A licensed mental-health professional, physician, or any regulated healthcare provider.
A platform for collecting, managing, or processing Protected Health Information (PHI).

No licensed clinician is reviewing your use of the Service. No content or feature of the Service should be interpreted as personalized clinical guidance.

3. Emergency and Crisis Situations

The Service cannot help you in an emergency. If you are experiencing thoughts of suicide, self-harm, harm to others, a medical emergency, or any urgent crisis:

If the Service detects crisis-related content during your use, it will display these resources. Display of those resources is a safety feature only; it is not an intervention, assessment, or confirmation that help is on the way.

4. Eligibility and Invite-Only Access

The Phase 1 Safe Pilot is an invite-only program. You may create an account only if you (a) are at least 18 years old, (b) possess a valid invite code issued by an authorized administrator or sign in with a Google account approved by an administrator, and (c) can legally enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction.

Invite codes are non-transferable, non-commercial, and may be revoked at any time. Accounts created with fraudulent, shared, or misused invite codes will be terminated.

5. Account Responsibilities

Provide accurate information during registration.
Keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
Notify the administrator immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
Use only one account. Do not impersonate another person.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service in place of professional medical or mental-health care.
Rely on the Service during a crisis or emergency.
Attempt to access administrator features, other users’ data, or any non-public portion of the Service.
Reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy Service content for redistribution.
Upload, submit, or share content that is unlawful, harassing, or infringing.
Use the Service to diagnose, treat, or advise others on health matters.
Interfere with the security, integrity, or operation of the Service.

7. Intellectual Property

All written content, the 14-tier framework, the “Self-Care Compass” and “ARZU Connect” names and logos, and the underlying code are the property of the Service owner and are provided for your personal, educational use only. You may not redistribute, publish, or create derivative works without written permission.

8. No Warranties

The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, or reliability. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any content will meet your needs or expectations.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service, its owner, administrators, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages — including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or any damages related to mental-health outcomes, decisions, actions, or inaction taken in connection with the Service — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

You acknowledge that (a) the Service is educational content only, (b) you alone are responsible for seeking appropriate professional care, and (c) the Service is not a safety net. Your use of the Service is at your sole risk.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Service owner, administrators, and contributors from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from (a) your use or misuse of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms, misuse of the Service, expiration of the pilot program, or administrative decision. You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time by contacting the administrator.

12. Changes to the Service and to These Terms

Because this is a pilot program, the Service may change, add features, remove features, or end without notice. We may revise these Terms by posting an updated version with a new Effective Date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York, and you consent to that jurisdiction and venue.

14. Severability & Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
